Every season exhibits a new display of plants therefore giving also new and different tasks to do during early to mid-spring, during late spring, during summer, during fall, and during winter in the garden.

Early to mid-spring is the time when the plants starts to grow.The plants should be away from weeds and debris to allow enough space for leaves and branches to spread.

Transplant container plants if they have roots coming out from the container. Transfer young plants into a larger pots to give enough space to grow. What are the jobs to be done on the garden during summer, fall, spring and winter? The late spring is the busiest time in the garden. The weather is getting warm and the flowers and plants are starting to grow fast. The plants need lots of watering. Spray fertilizer before planting. Spray roses for fungal diseases. Remove the top of the flower stem of tulips for the next year. Apply weed remover to the lawn. Mow the lawn every week. Water all fruit trees. Put nets on strawberries before they get ripe. Indoor tomatoes should be planted at this time. It is a good time to buy aquatic plants. Check the aquatic plants for blanket weed and pests. Fall is the proper time to maintain the garden like sweeping leaves and removing plant debris. Clear out the flower pots and garden beddings. Insulate plants. Repair existing lawn if there’s a problem with it. Harvest remaining fruits and vegetables. Prune fruit trees and bushes. It is the proper time to plant fruit trees and bushes. Bring in vulnerable plants before freezing time. Protect plants and bring in container pots when the weather is bad. Insulate container plants to prevent from freezing. Plant bulbs like tulips for spring color.

Protect plants from freezing. Clean and service the lawn mower. Prune fruits and bushes. Clean tools, pots and storage areas. Firm in plantings that have been lifted out of the ground by frost. Prune summer flowering plants. Brush now off tops of hedges so that the snow does not break the branches. Check produce in storage often for rotting condition.
