The Schauer Center in Hartford is one of over 25 locations hosting an exhibit and educational workshop as part of the 2015 Wisconsin Regional Arts Program (WRAP). Sponsored by the Schauer Center, in cooperation with the Kettle Moraine Fine Arts Guild, and the UW-Madison Department of Liberal Studies and the Arts, entries are currently being considered for inclusion in the exhibit.
Chosen artwork will be displayed in the Suckow Family Art Gallery through Sunday, March 20.
WRAP is open to all non-professional artists over 16 years of age.
Artwork must be original and completed in the last two years. Entries will be juried and meritorious works will be displayed at a state exhibit in September at UW-Madison, where artwork is eligible for cash awards.
“This is the seventh consecutive year that the Schauer Center has sponsored the WRAP exhibit and workshop,” stated Schauer Center Executive Director Brenda Lee Johnston. “The continued growth in participation confirms that area artists have found the program a beneficial opportunity to showcase their work and develop their talents.”
As part of the program, the Schauer Center is offering a public lecture/ demonstration by a local artist on Sunday, March 29, 2015. After the workshop, exhibiting artists will have a chance to discuss their work and receive critique from a professional artist.
Entry forms will be accepted via mail at the Schauer Center (147 N. Rural Street, Hartford) until Friday, Feb. 6, 2015. Entry fee to exhibit artwork and attend the workshop is $20; the public is invited to attend the workshop for a fee of $5.
