Event Details

This event finished on 26 October 2014

Basse’s Taste of Country is located at 3190 County Line Q in Colgate (three-and-a half miles west of Hwy. 41/45). Basse’s annual New & Improved Pumpkin Fest begins Sept. 27th and will run each weekend through Oct. 26th.

A family-run business, Basse’s owners, Roger and Rebecca, along with their two children, Blake and Sarah Jo, have been selling produce and offering a wide variety of family fun for 24 years. Their theme is a verse from Corinthians 3:7: “We plant and nurture but it is God who makes things grow.” This fall Basse’s New & Improved Happy Jack’s Pumpkin Land will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am – 5:30 pm and Weekdays from 2-5:30.

New Farmfastic Family Fun activities will include: New giant haymow slides, rat racers, a jumping pillow, peddle carts, pig races (races at 11am, 1pm, & 3pm), a mirror maze, new & improved Who Dun It corn maze, pumpkin express train and much more. Pony rides will be available from 11am-5pm on Oct. 4 & 5 and Oct. 11 & 12.

Our main focus is to grow family memories. We want the parents to enjoy all we have to offer along with their children and that’s why we created Pumpkin Land. Homemade caramel apples, caramel apple wedges, fresh apple cider and a large selection of homegrown apples will also be available while supplies last.

In June 2015, Basse’s will offer 15 acres of “You-Pick-Straw-berries,” during which participants can roam the fields and gather “delicious red strawberries,” and then eat them along with many other delectable goodies including our delicious strawberry sundaes.

The season then goes into summer, which features u pick raspberries, “super sweet” sweet corn, and finishing up with a fall harvest of autumn beauty. Basse’s books school tours as well, and those interested should call in advance to book the outing. Tours are done during the week and by appointment only.

Hours of operation for Basse’s Taste of Country are Mon-Thurs-Sat-Sun 10am-5:30pm and Tues-Wed-Fri 10am-6pm. For Pumpkin Fest information, call the hotline starting Sept. 20 (262) 628-3866.
